Does anyone here actually LIKE Hot Topic?
I went shopping there the other day for a HP shirt, and something occured to me as I was there.
Hot Topic encourages the proliferation of fangirls.
Think about it. What variety are most Sues? Punk. And the shirts? When I went to get a Star Wars shirt for RotS, I noticed something. The guys' side had all kinds of kick-ass shirts (my favorite was one with Yoda saying "Pull my finger") but the girls' side had shirts with "hot" characters on front, like Obi-Wan or Anakin.
Same with LotR (Orlando Bloom's face splashed across a shirt is nothing short of scary) and HP, because I wound up making my own HP shirt.
Also, I had bought an Invader Zim shirt there ages ago, and have pretty much worn it to tatters, and I want a new one with Zim on it, and the girls' shirts only have GIR (the "cute" one) and Dib (the "hot" one).
I don't usually dress in the kind of clothes they sell, so I wouldn't know, but isn't the point of that is that it's a LIFESTYLE and not a brand of clothes that 13 year old Suethors wear?
The only reason I mention this is because I feel like if Nick ever put out a DP line it would be at Hot Topic, and I don't want an OMGDANNYISHAWWTT! shirt.

Seriously, the only time I have broken down and actually bought something from there, a Raven shirt (from Teen Titans, it's awesome), it fell apart immediately. A few weeks ago I had to stitch all the holes around the sleeves closed.
I think fangirls are awesome to some extent, but what I object to is people who become fans of something becuase they've seen it in Hot Topic. Still, who am I to judge? I just ask them a few geek-wise questions and let their true Fangirlness (or lack thereof) show for itself.
~As for a Danny Phantom shirt...hell, I'd buy it.

I used to shop there all the time before they went over to the style they're at now (pop culture fan clothing). It was about 6 years ago or so, back when it was "goth and other" not "cool media and other".
But then again, I'd probably but DP accessories if they sold them there XD

Hottopic BREEDS stupidity. I'm sure of it. But then again fangirls are also pretty damn stupid... Although I'm ashamed to admit I once was one. v_v Now, I just exploit fangirls for their money. :D They'd buy anything. Which is why I go to conventions! To sell really bad repros of my art for way too much money, and come home with thousands. XP
Erm.. Yeah. I'm a bad person and I'm going to burn in a firey pit of hell when I die.
And I would buy a DP shirt if they sold them there. In a heartbeat. Actually, I'd probably buy a DP shirt if I liked the designs they had on the Nick.com store, but I don't. :/ If I wasn't terrified of being sued, I'd totally print off my own. Sob.

Hot Topic is OK, but since we have none here, I've only bought a few Zim shirts. I wanted one of the Spongebob ones, but they took 'em down before I got chance.

I think I start to get angry with the store, when people walk out wearing every article of clothing from there. >_O Actually, I think it's just those retarded bondage pants that drive me insane. But my wadrobe is a nice mix of all my favorite stores: Hot Topic, Wet Seal, American Eagle, Diamond Dogs, Aeropostale, Old Navy, some sweet sweaters from JC Penny's, Anchor Blue. And I'll admit, I'm kinda vain D; But I've tried hard to get that "quirky, just rolled out of bed and put on six layers of clothing, and a perfectly worn out purse~" look. (Do you know the one?) And, after two years of experimenting and adding to my wardrobe I've finally got it down. :3
Of course, most every layer starts with a fangirly shirt. Today it was Kingsdom Hearts, yesterday a homemade Red vs. Blue shirt, the day before that another homemade DP shirt. It's fun to have fun with clothes! :D Although, I think yu might be opposing the scary fangirls. Who like, you see them wearing a shirt and are all like "neat! I like furuba too!" and then try to walk away, but then they bombard you with endless chatter about their fanfiction and original characters, and how they haven't showered in weeks... And just Uuughhg... I hate those fangirls.
Uhmm... wow. Did not mean to ramble so much. xD I think my main point was Hot Topic is okay in moderation (and none of their nasty ass pants D;).

Although I like GIR, Zim is my fav character, so I join you in being gloomy over the lack of Zim shirts for girls.
HT does spawn some eeire fangirls/boys. My friends like to get their kicks nowadays by teasing the newly born Naruto fans that have only seen whats aired on CN and think they're experts. ^.^
Those HT pants are DANGEROUS. Back in the day, like...five years ago when I was a freshman in highschool, I had a pair. I totally got stuck in an escalator because of them. ^.^
